Skuffed Up My Huffy

Japanther's latest album is, to say the least, interesting.
15 tracks of fuzzy, drum-driven, sample-ridden sing-a-longs, none of which are above 3 minutes.
i really cannot think of words to describe it. listening to it is the best thing since i got
AIH's Places Like This.

and since its christmas, heres a present for you all
i found a place you can download the whole album for free

punks not dead!

don't you hate people with t-shirts that say that? i mean, the very fact they bought it from top shop proves that it is. half the people with those t-shirts probably dont even know what punk is, let alone know whether its is or isnt dead, or even what era it came from. Sum 41 are not punk. Blink 182 are not punk. Greenday are not punk.

The Horrors, however, are punk. looking like Russel Brand and sounding like a cross between Minor Threat and Nirvana they are the living proof that punk isnt dead, and all those people with silly t-shirts are correct.
my favourite track, Count in Fives, comes complete with a catchy guitar riff and shouts that echo The Ramone's Blitzkrieg Bop.
their new album, Strange House, came out this year and can be found in most good music shops for around the the sum of £10.

randomizer.de

well a while back i downloaded a couple of albums off 8bit peoples by a dude called Random. and holy shit, hes amazing.
after weeks of searching and racking my brains i finally managed to find his myspace, which is more easier said than done (for reasons explained on his myspace).

i recommend downloading his Bad Joke EP, it is absolutely awesome. tracks like Sitges Savepoint and Lightyears 500 hit you in the face like a fat, pixelized brick, while Spontaneous Devotion sneaks up behind you and slips into your back pocket.

ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

i'm changing the blog a bit:
The biggest and most noticeable change is the name, which is no longer Your Music Sucks. That was only ever meant to be a temporary name because i couldnt think of anything at the time, and i like this new name much better.
Secondly, i think im gonna stop posting metal on here. partly because ive stopped listening to metal as much and got more into electro, and partly because i think most people who read this are more into the electro-y stuff than the metally stuff i post.
Thirdly im thinking of doing some sort of podcast or radio show or something like that and im looking for someone who would want to be in it. you must have similar musical interests to me and think your selection of tracks will fit in with the kind of stuff ive been posting so far.

on another note entirely, i made a Tiger Force t-shirt last night

Melt Banana + DBTV update

Whilst reading a review of some of Tiger Force's early stuff, I came across a comment accusing them of simply copying a band named Melt Banana, or M-B.
Although I didnt believe him in the slightest, i thought that if this M-B could be compared to Tiger Force, then I should probably czeq them out and see what all the fuss was about, and boy, am I glad I did that.
M-B is a japanese experimental/rock four-piece, who's songs make about as much sense as their name. Full to the brim with pure energy, similar to most other japanese ive encountered, their songs hit you in the face like a screaming pot of honey painted yellow. Its that good. And with 8 albums and 23 EPs they have plenty enough material to satisfy your spazz-rock needs, if that is what you desire of course.

I couldnt find an official band myspace but simply lots of fan profiles, the best of which is
here

UPDATE:
Death By Television recently announced they will be releasing a split tape on Unnecessary Friction records early next year, as part of a year long split series.
Its not yet been announced who the split will be with, however some of the other bands taking part in the series are Narwhalz (of sound), Unicorn Basement and Apple SaintJon
