The Future!

The future of music has arrived!
In the form of "Not Here To Please You", a mixtape from 'nu-rave' gods Hadouken! which has been released solely on small, 128mb memory sticks with "Hadouken!" printed on them and little red light inside.
Once you plug it into your pc, and autorun flash window opens in which you have to navigate the stylised and graphically 'odd' menu, much like you would a CD ROM, to find the different tracks and unlock secret content.
Along with the whole fact of it being on a memory stick and the cool menu, the tracks on this little beast are pretty awesome on their own! New versions of old tracks like The Bounce and Dance Lessons feature on the track along with the band's best loved remixes like No More Eatin', and 3 new tracks Girls, Love Sweat and Beer, and finally Leap of Faith. Now, when i first heard this track i thought the worst. Rather than the quick-witted, grimey vocals of the past which have made Hadouken so popular, it has strange, droning 'singing'. Personally i think this toally ruins the song, as the background music is fine and very Hadouken!, in contrast to this new style of singing. Hopefully, this isnt the direction all new Haouken! tracks will go as most of the Haouken! fans i knnow have said they hate it.
On the plus side however, it is an amazing album (mixtape apparently) and is well worth buying especially for only around £8 on play.com.

Animal Collective

This band is literally amazing. The first song i heard, 'Peacebone', stunned me into silence for about ten minutes after it had finished. However, it made no sense to me at all.

Imagine the "epic" trait of The Arcade Fire, and turn into a kind of twisted beauty that makes no sense, then add in some eerie vocals and synth/squiggles and this is what happens.

Wyld Stallyns!

Oh yes. I found it. Its the most excellent cover song done by the most excellent band on earth and played at the end of the most excellent film ever made.
